Class background: A state agency employee must complete the Basic Texas Purchaser Course to engage in purchasing functions on behalf of a state agency if the employee has the job title of purchaser; performs purchasing activities as fifteen percent (15%) or more of their job activities; or makes a purchase in excess of $5,000. This course does not count toward Continuing Education. This course is held online.
